    Room: Meditation Hall
A class on leading meditation, shrines, and meditation spaces

"When you express gentleness and precision in your environment, then real brilliance and power can descend onto that situation." - Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche
"Creating an enlightened culture based on the direct display of basic goodness has the power to shift the world's future." - Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche
Knowing the details of what we do and why we do certain things (and not others) is part of creating a potent and welcoming environment at the Berkeley Shambhala Meditation Center.
This class will include teachings, reminders, contemplations, conversation and questions about how to umdze, the meaning of shrines and how to care for shrines and offerings, as well as other forms and practices that are part of Shambhala Culture. It will unfold in the context of exploring how uncovering the goodness and warmth of the details breathes life into the culture of kindness at the heart of each warrior, and at the core of Shambhala Culture.
Please join Faith Miller (Center Chöpön), Bernie Kamps (Center Umdze), and Dave DuBois (Culture and Decorum Representative) for this one-time, Saturday morning class. The class is free. All are welcome. This class is particularly recommended for those who volunteer for weekly Practice Night or Sunday Morning Meditation and those who staff programs.
