"When the Buddha first taught, he could have taught anything. He had just waked up completely. His mind was clear and he experienced no obstacles - just the vastness and goodness of himself and life... Yet, he didn't talk about basic goodness, clarity, space, bliss, wonder, or openness. In the first teaching of the Buddha - the teachings on the four noble truths - he talked about suffering."
Pema Chodron, The Wisdom of No Escape.

The Four Noble Truths were Buddha's first teaching, and remain always the basis of all his teachings.  If we build our lives on a thoughtful understanding of these truths, and continually refresh that understanding, we will walk the Buddha's path.  Join us for a special series at Oakland Shambhala where we will explore each of these truths in turn, and discuss how we might practice them in our own lives. This series will be guided by Dr. Rob Lee.

    Tuesday, June 13 8pm: 2nd Noble Truth
    Tuesday, July 11, 8pm: 3rd Noble Truth
