This half-day workshop in the art of Japanese flower arrangement will include demonstrations, hands on experience learning both basic and free style arrangements specific to the Berkeley Shambhala center environment, tea and the mutual enjoyment of creating with flowers.  No prior experience necessary. If you have clippers, frogs or flowers from your garden please bring them.

For the past five years Odessa Spore has been studying with Soho Sake, a sogetsu school ikebana master. Odessa is currently working on completing her Sogetsu teaching certificate. Odessa also holds a BFA in fine art. She has been practicing in the Shambhala tradition for 30 years and has found that the practice of arranging flowers brings together meditation with the play of creativity.  Odessa is excited to share the joy of this practice with you.
