We are living in confusing and anxious times. By communicating with the world gently and fearlessly, we can sharpen our awareness and find the open, clear sky of mind—a brilliant source of wisdom and uplifted energy.  We learn to trust our nature enough to let go into the present moment.

Shambhala Training Level V completes the first series of Shambhala Training levels.

Based on ancient teachings that were brought to the West by Tibetan Buddhist meditation master Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, Shambhala Training offers a way of living in the world with confidence, genuineness and creative expression based on the inherent wisdom that exists in every person.  Shambhala training offers clear and precise methods for uplifting our personal experience and that of others. This weekend-long program includes meditation instruction with periods of sitting and walking practice, formal talks, group discussion and personal interviews.

Prerequisite: Level IV Shambhala Training

Shastri Trinley Busby is a student of the Sakyong, Mipham Rinpoche and was appointed as a shastri (senior teacher) in 2013. For the past 10 years Trinley has been uniting her experiences as a meditator with her work as an activist. Her volunteer and contract work, in the area of housing and poverty activism, led her to the field of frontline social service support work in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, working specifically with marginalized populations who live with concurrent mental health and substance abuse challenges. She has served as director of the social action arm of the Vancouver Centre, Awake in Action (2008-2011), on Vancouver’s governing council, advised on the Ziji Collective International steward’s council, and is on the board for the Shambhala Office of Social Engagement. Since immigrating to Seattle WA, in 2016, Trinley travels and teaches Shambhala programs and retreats full time. She lives with her husband Michael and cat, Buster.

Generosity Policy
The Berkeley Shambhala Center is funded solely by your membership and program donations. Thank you for your generosity as you consider what you can pay for each program at our Center. We strive to price our programs in a way that accurately reflects the financial need of our Center and the cost to us of producing the program.
We are committed to offering our programs to everyone, regardless of their financial situation. If you are unable to meet any of our listed pricing tiers please use the “pay in accord with your circumstances” option when registering and enter the amount that you can offer.

What is the Patron Price?
The other aspect of our Generosity Policy is our Patron Price. Those who are able to offer more than the regular program price can select the Patron Price option.  By selecting this option, your generosity is helping to cover the costs of those who may not be able to pay the full price of the program. Thank you for your consideration, and for helping all to receive the treasure of the Shambhala Dharma.
